Bristol Rant

NASCAR,

Where do I begin???

Weird week this week being Bristol and everything was moved up a Day. You had Arca/Trucks on Thursday, Xfinity on Friday, and Cup on Saturday

So while you weren’t competing with the NFL you’re competing with NCAA Football which is arguably more profitable

So let’s talk about Saturday. I had a party conflicting with the Race and The Day’s Football Games. I had to make do with Social Media. Now I wish I could be able to watch a replay of the race. However on Tuesday September 16th it’s not available on NASCAR Classics for some strange reason. When I watched a WWE PLE on Peacock it was available IMMEDIATELY after the event. Why is there a long (in Zoomer terms) Wait to see races after they’ve been held?? That’s Crap NASCAR you need to begin to do better if you wanna compete!!

Bristol used to be a Premium Night Race Not a Crown Jewel but a Desired race for TV. Now its on a secondary network while it’s primary (NBC) shows Notre Dame vs Texas A&M. The best non-conference team vs the 4-7th best team in the SEC.

AND in the East Tennessee Market. The Ranked Tennessee Volunteers lost to the Ranked Georgia Bulldogs just before the race (Like the game ended in OT 30 minutes before the Green Flag Waved) So that goes against you guys as well!!

So lets talk about the race. The Tire was acting up yet again forcing drivers to save their stuff something they’re not used to thanks to the Next-Gen Car. Why not let the DRIVERS you pay MILLIONS of Dollars to operate be the one in control of the Car?? What is the great sin in that??

Of a 3 Hour 40 Minute Race you had 2 solid hours of Caution thanks to the tire and not knowing how to handle it (thanks to X for giving me that stat) This is supposed to be close to a CROWN JEWEL and it generates more cautions than Green Flag. Isn’t this a Playoff Race as well?? Isn’t that supposed to mean something?? Asking for a Friend

Now the Playoffs are meant to draw ratings. So Lemme ask another question. Why are Ratings down? Is it because they’re on a B network, Is it because Racing doesn’t need an elimination Playoff, Is it because you’re letting a short term gain effect your long term goal?? IDK I’m not a marketing/TV expert and you’re not paying me to be one, BUT it looks like this whole thing sucks and you need help getting back to what Bruce Springsteen would Call the “Glory Days”
